About
Disciples for Humanity was founded in response to the April 2011 tornado outbreak. We received our IRS Determination letter in 2012. Disciples for Humanity is a 501(c)(3) public charity. We do not receive any funding from grants, sponsorships or the government. All of our funding is through public donations. Per IRS regulations all donations to our organization are tax deductible. Per IRS regulations Disciples for Humanity is Incorporated with a Board of Directors. Our principal office is located in Huntsville, Alabama.
All of our funding is used in the United States to aid our citizens. We do not nor will we ever have any overseas projects. We are an America First organization.
Disciples for Humanity began as a disaster relief organization. Over the years we have transitioned into a humanitarian organization with disaster relief no longer being our core mission. We have expanded into an organization that aids with everyday crises that people face. We are a project driven organization that concentrates on our ongoing projects and any short term projects that may arise.
We believe that the project approach is the best approach to helping those who need help. It insures that we do not get over burdened with more than the organization can handle while at the same time being able to completely help those who come to us instead of giving them a band-aid for their situation.
We believe in long term solutions instead of short term solutions however we do offer short term aid in certain circumstances.
Disciples for Humanity is an all volunteer organization. The people who are part of our organization are dedicated to serving others through their faith. We are a faith driven organization.
